It’s time to celebrate!
July 12th is a VERY special feast day for everyone here at Catholic Family Crate. We celebrate the Feast Day of Sts. Louis and Zélie Martin – the patron saints of parenting, marriage, and Catholic Family Crate!
The Facts
Saints Louis and Zélie are a shining example of Catholic parenthood. Initially, they both wanted to join religious orders, but realized that God was calling them to married life. They embraced their vocation and joyfully welcomed nine children! Five of their daughters went on to become nuns, one of whom eventually became a saint – St. Thérèse of Lisieux. Their home was centered around prayer and sacraments, and was filled with joy. Saints Louis and Zélie were the first-ever married couple to be canonized together!
The Feast
As parents, it is our greatest joy, honor, and challenge to raise little saints. God has entrusted us with his precious children, and it is our job to love them, guide them, and support them as they journey through their pilgrimage here on earth. Saints Louis and Zélie remind us that when we keep God at the heart of our home, everything else falls into place.
