Happy Easter! He is risen!
Did you know that Easter isn’t just one day? As Catholics, we celebrate Easter for a full 50 days—from Easter Sunday to Pentecost! While the world moves on quickly, we are called to rejoice in Christ’s victory over death for even longer than we fasted during Lent.
So how can we celebrate the full Easter season as a family? Here are some simple, joy-filled ways to keep Easter alive in your home—whether through free, easy traditions or with beautiful Catholic resources that make celebrating even more special!

1. Make Your Home Reflect the Easter Joy
Just as we fill our homes with purple during Lent, Easter calls for bright, beautiful decor to remind us that Christ has conquered death!
Easy ideas for everyone:
✅ Keep fresh flowers in the house throughout the season.
✅ Leave up (or add) decorations that reflect the joy of the resurrection.
✅ Sing "Alleluia!" after family prayer or before meals.
Make it even easier with our Easter resources:
🎉 Our Alleluia Banner is a simple and beautiful way to proclaim the joy of the season in your home. Hang it in your prayer corner, above the dining table, or even on your front door! Shop here.

2. Celebrate the Whole Easter Octave
The first eight days of the Easter season, known as the Easter Octave, are considered one long feast! These are eight solemn days of joy, and every day is treated like Easter Sunday itself.
Easy ideas for everyone:
🎉 Have a small celebration each day—serve a special treat, light a candle at dinner, or play joyful music.

3. Celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday (Second Sunday of Easter)
The Sunday after Easter is Divine Mercy Sunday, a special day to reflect on Jesus’ boundless mercy. Jesus told St. Faustina, "The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment.”
Easy ways to celebrate:
🙏 Pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet together as a family (it only takes about 10 minutes!).
📖 Read about St. Faustina and Jesus' messages of mercy.
💙 Trust in God’s mercy by going to Confession and receiving the Eucharist.
