O Antiphons Ornaments
Roman Catholics have been singing the “O Antiphons" for 1,300 years! What are the “O Antiphons” you might ask? The “O Antiphons” (of which there are seven) are a tradition that is done during vespers (evening prayer) for the octave (eight days) before Christmas. There is no antiphon for Christmas Eve because it is the vigil of Christmas. Each antiphon is a different name of Christ and uses ancient biblical imagery to express our hope and longing for the Messiah. Every year, Catholics around the world sing (or recite) these antiphons in preparation for the coming Savior. We want to share this beautiful tradition with you using Christmas ornaments!
Each ornament has a symbol on one side and an "O Antiphon" on the other. Every night from December 17-23, read or sing the antiphon and hang the ornament on your family tree with some twine or an ornament hook.

St. Andrew Christmas Novena Print
The St. Andrew Novena is prayed from St. Andrew’s feast day on November 30th to the birth of Christ on December 25th. This novena is traditionally attributed to St. Andrew because of its start date, but has a particular focus on Christ’s birth. The prayer is meant to be said 15 times a day, but if that is unrealistic for your family, that’s OK! One option that many people find helpful is to pray it 5 times at each meal, but some simply say it once before bed. Wherever you are in your spirituality this Advent season, we challenge you to incorporate this novena into your preperations in a way that works for your family.

We have created separate Advent and Christmas playlists for you. Why two lists of songs? In the Catholic tradition, Advent anticipates the coming of Christ. It is a time of preparation and joyful waiting, so we do not play Christmas music until we celebrate Christ’s birth. Beginning with Christmas Mass until the Baptism of the Lord, we play Christmas music in celebration of our Savior’s birth. We hope these two playlists help you capture the anticipation and joy of the season.
