Feast Day #1: St. Elizabeth Ann Seton (January 4th)

Today, we celebrate this brave woman for her dedication to motherhood, Catholic education, and a spiritual life! Her life was hard! Her husband died, leaving her a widow and a mother to five children, and when she became Catholic, her own family refused to speak to her. One day, a priest heard about Elizabeth’s struggles and asked her to start an all-girls school in Baltimore, Maryland. She moved her children and founded the first free Catholic school in America. Elizabeth raised her children while educating many students and guiding teachers. Her work at the school was the beginning of her religious order, the Sisters of St. Joseph.

Display your liturgical art print and share her story with your saints in training!

Feast Day #2: Feast of the Baptism of the Lord (January 8th)

It’s important to remember that Jesus did not need to be baptized because he was absolutely sinless in every way. Even so, he chose to humble himself by allowing his cousin, John the Baptist, to baptize him with water in the River Jordan. When Jesus came up from the water, the heavens suddenly opened up. The Spirit of God descended like a dove, and a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, the Beloved, with whom I am well pleased" (Matthew 3:17).

Share the information at the back of the art print with your little saints in training.

Monthly Staples:

Beautiful Words: The Our Father

Jesus taught us how to pray in Matthew 6:9-13 when he gave us the Our Father. According to the CCC 2774, “‘The Lord's Prayer is truly the summary of the whole gospel,’ the ‘most perfect of prayers.’ It is at the center of the Scriptures.” Throughout the month, work to memorize this most perfect of prayers. Already know it? Practice meditating on this prayer throughout the month.

 Virtue Chat Table Topper: Piety

Each month your family will focus on developing strong character through a particular virtue. Put this topper wherever you eat meals together and use it to guide the daily conversation.

Spotify Playlist

Each month includes a playlist full of beautiful music. We encourage you to play the music in the car, at home during the day, during bath time, and while cleaning--basically in the background of your normal everyday life. Don't forget to play the playlist during feast day.
